3 Ways to Reprogram your Subconscious Mind

In order to manifest the things that you desire into your life, you must reprogram the subconscious mind to align with all you want to achieve and experience.

The conscious mind, located in the frontal cortex of your brain, is only responsible for 5 percent of your brain function.  The conscious mind is everything you are aware of, the visual and sensory information that you take in.  However, it is slow to process this information as your brain must slow down to analyze it and create an interpretation.

Meanwhile, your subconscious mind, which is responsible for the other 95 percent of all functions, can produce results much faster as it is on autopilot most of the time.  This includes things such as your breathing, heart rate, and learned behaviors.  This automatic process is the main reason why you must reprogram your subconscious mind to manifest your desires much easier and more quickly.

The subconscious mind is not limited to your bodily functions.  The autopilot system also includes things like your perception of yourself and the world around you, your thought process, your emotional responses, and even your stress levels.  This means that we might partake in self-harming behaviors and not even be fully aware of them.

When you are young, your mind is a sponge, absorbing anything and everything it can find.  For example, if you spend a lot of time around a parent who is introverted and unconfident, you will also develop these behaviors.  You will also hold on to other people’s perceptions of you.  It doesn’t matter if these perceptions have a positive or negative impact, if you are told you are great or that you are incompetent, your subconscious mind will soak that up.

This causes your conscious mind to validate these subconscious feelings.  If your subconscious mind believes that life is stressful, that it is not worth pursuing goals because you will fail, and that you are not competent, then your conscious mind will look for elements in reality to validate these ideas.  This creates a cycle that gets more and more engraved in our brains as time progresses, and it becomes so routine that you may not even be aware of your thoughts and emotions anymore.

Luckily it is possible to change your thoughts, emotions and perceptions and reprogram your subconscious mind to help you change and grow towards achieving your goals.  Here are 3 things to start doing today to help you reprogram your subconscious mind.

Increase your self-awareness

Reprogramming your subconscious mind begins with awareness.  Since we are unaware of %95 percent of our brain function, you must actively take steps to increase your awareness.  This can be done through daily journaling, meditations, and self-affirmations.  When you journal, you can write about the thoughts you want to change, and who you desire to be.  This practice will increase your daily awareness and help you let go of any thoughts that do not serve you.  Also be aware that everything you want is already yours as we live in a universe with infinite possibilities.  All you have to do is align your energies with what you want to accomplish, and then it will be attracted to you and become yours.  Lastly, write down “I am” affirmations.  The more you tell yourself what you are, the faster your subconscious mind will reprogram itself to believe it is what you want to be, and thus your desired experiences will come to you.

Take Action

Now that you have increased your awareness, you must now take steps to achieving your goals.  Aligning your energy with what you want will also put you in the position to start taking these steps, as nothing comes without both internal and external work.  It is in this step where you leave your comfort zone and make calculated moves to get you closer to and achieve your goals.

See Hardships as a Test

Realize that nothing happens overnight.  There will be challenges, shortcomings, and missteps in any goal pursuit.  Understand that this is OK, it’s called life.  Failure only occurs when you give up, otherwise any hardship is an opportunity to learn and grow, test your strength, and affirm just how bad you really want it.  Any hardship that occurs, instead of seeing it negatively, consider it a test from the universe.  See any roadblock not as a deterrent but as an obstacle, and once you clear the obstacle you are yet another step closer to achieving your ultimate goal.

You are a powerful creator.  Nothing in your life is definitive, you can always change your mindset and perceptions to create the experiences and reality that you dream of.  All you have to do is stay in the moment to improve your awareness, take action, and embrace any tests and challenges that come your way.  Just reading this article is a reminder to yourself that you are passionate about achieving your goals and dedicated to making them become a reality.
