This is a subtitle for your new post

Take a moment to close your eyes and visualize yourself achieving your 2020 fitness ambitions. What do you see? Are you flexing in your dream body? Are you feeling strong and healthy? Or maybe you are competing in an athletic event. Whatever your ambition may be, achieving our goals requires hard work and dedication, and those two abilities require constant motivation.

As the year kicks off it is easy to be motivated. We can all dream big and envision ourselves achieving our aspirations. However as the days roll over and life continues to happen, it becomes easier and easier to find excuses and escape clauses to put in less work and become less motivated. If you are reading this blog and using this Results Fitness App, I certainly do not want this to happen to you. I want you to achieve everything you set out to accomplish. That being said, here are my tips to staying motivated not just for 2020, but for your entire lifetime.

TIP ONE: Habit Forming
In human psychology, it takes twenty six days to form a habit. Knowing this, you can understand that the first month will be the most difficult. However if you can stay consistent on your workouts through this threshold, the process will become easier and part of your daily life. On days where you are not feeling motivated, remind yourself that with every passing workout brings you one step closer to the ultimate consistency. The time will pass no matter what, so you might as well let it pass while working towards your goals!

TIP TWO: Goal Setting
You should set an array of goals when pursuing your fitness ambitions. Make sure you set goals outside of your ultimate goal. For example, let's pretend your goal is the aesthetic goal of having six pack abs. You must have goals surrounding your end goal in order to be successful and make it there. I recommend having a goal for consistency, a nutrition based goal, a short term goal, and a long term goal. Having these separate benchmarks will show consistent progress and keep you encouraged as you reach each one. I also recommend having a long term goal of overall health, mobility, and longevity of life. Thinking in this way will make you more likely to keep active and healthy even after you achieve your goal of having abs. After all, it is about quality of life in the long run!

TIP THREE: Fitness Diversity
Often times, people hone in on one fitness aspect when they set their goal. For example, if someone has a goal to lose weight, they might only feel successful if they see their weight drop. However, this way of thinking might cause them to neglect their increased strength, balance, and cardiovascular capabilities, just to name a few. There are many aspects of fitness, and if you set personal goals in multiple facets, you will have more ways to track your progress and truly see the totality of your improvement.

In Conclusion
To truly stay motivated year long, you must form the proper habits and set a diverse platform of goals. Doing so will keep you encouraged by showing all the different ways in which you are improving day by day as well as help to develop your love for fitness. Love is a crucial element to your fitness motivation. If you love and enjoy working out, you are more likely to dedicate time to doing so daily. Remember that movement is a gift, and showing that gratitude in the fitness arena will allow you to stay consistent, love your time to move, and have a strong purpose as to why you move.

Be well everyone,
