A.I. is Lacking in the Fitness Field, Until Now...

No, Chat GPT did not write this…


I say this because there is great fear over A.I.  Between kids essays in school, spreadsheets, logic solving, and even blog posts.  A.I. is even creating full fitness programs, with nutrition plans, detailed workout descriptions, and more.  BUT  we still create our own content.


It is me, Coach Derek….


But anyway, I write this to express what A.I. can’t yet do.  And yes, I know by writing this I am giving it more capabilities.  More options as to how it can evolve and change the world.  Regardless, what A.I. can’t do is things that we do, right now, to make your life easier in an organic, non-artificial way.  Let me explain.


I recently saw a post about A.I. as it relates to fitness.  It creates goal based workouts, it creates meal plans relating to current body and allergic specifications.  You can ditch your trainer and use Chat GPT to get several months worth of built out fitness guidance, but then what?  How does A.I. motivate you?  How can it relate to you?  How can it coach?  How can it demonstrate, explain, and make sure your exercise form is perfect?  The answer is simple.  It can not do these things yet.


A.I. modules are text based or contain super basic modules of the muscle you are working.  Sure it can tell you why or describe how to do it, but how does that help you?  Artificial intelligence pulls from everything on the internet, so with all the absolutely awful form and terrible misinformation out there, how do you know that you are getting the best advice?  And if it is text based, how do you know if you are truly doing it properly?
